The two-tower commercial and residential development at 18 Honeysuckle Drive, Newcastle was awarded a 5-star green star rating upon completion. The commercial tower features a centralised air handling and pre-conditioned outside air plant. Conditioned supply airflow throughout the commercial complex is remotely monitored, with flow rates modulating in response to zoned temperature data. The variable air volume boxes that allow for this modulation were calibrated for accurate air velocity sensing using a series of multi-point duct traverse measurements. 

The facility also features a zoned smoke extraction and stairwell pressurisation system as part of the fire engineering solution. This system had to be carefully configured to ensure each fire affected zone receives the correct amount of smoke exhaust extraction as well as adequate segregation from non-fire affected compartments by way of air pressure separation. This required the configuration of both the smoke exhaust variable speed drives and the outside air supply variable speed drives for multi-zone and thus multi-speed set-point operation.
